Linux 7.4 introduces a lazyio mount option for Ceph to enable global lazy I/O for all regular files at open time. This feature supports buffered I/O via the page cache for HPC workloads. The kernel also adds a CEPHFSINLINEDATA Kconfig option defaulting to off, as the deprecated inline data feature faces removal in future releases.
