PLD Space signed an agreement with French space agency CNES to study a second launch pad at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, possibly at the ELM-Diamant site. The pad would support the MIURA 5 and larger MIURA 9 rockets under ESA's European Launcher Challenge, a €158.9m contract signed in August and mainly financed by Spain.
