Spain's First Astronaut Named IEEE Honorary Member

IEEE named Pedro Duque, Spain's first astronaut, an honorary member for contributions to space exploration and serving as a role model. Duque flew on space shuttle Discovery in 1998 and the International Space Station in 2003, later heading Spain's science ministry. He could not attend the 24 April ceremony in New York City and accepted in recorded remarks.
