Crypto-Funded Chinese Peptide Labs Are Booming

Google rolled out a new Android feature in Android 12 and later versions that detects AI-powered voice impersonation scams. The feature runs a silent cryptographic handshake between devices during calls. If the call fails handshake verification, Android flags it and removes the contact photo. The update is available only on Google Dialer and phones running Android 12 or later. It does not protect iPhone users.
