PgDog is a Postgres proxy that pools connections while preserving SET and LISTEN/NOTIFY commands, which other poolers break. It uses a built-in SQL parser to track session state per client. Built on Tokio with multithreaded workers, PgDog handles 2 million queries per second in production and is open source.
