Rivian R2 Suspension Cheaper Lighter Than R1

Rivian engineered the R2's front subframe from stamped steel instead of aluminum, making it almost 50% cheaper and about 10% lighter than the R1's. The R2 uses coil springs and rigid anti-roll bars instead of air suspension and hydraulic anti-roll bars. Rivian says the R2 costs about half as much to build as an R1.
