Google launches EmbeddingGemma 2, an open 740-million-parameter model licensed under Apache 2.0 that runs entirely on devices. It maps text, code, images, audio and video into a single 768-dimension space without sending data to the cloud. The model needs about 191MB for text on a Pixel 11 Pro or 567MB for all five modalities.
