Bridgestone launched its AirFree airless tires on self-driving shuttles in Higashiomi, Japan, after 18 years of development. The tires top out at 12 mph and use thermoplastic resin spokes with a rubber tread. They are not ready for passenger cars and are limited to low-speed mobility fleets.
