India's Bullet Train Prototype Nears Safety Tests

India's first indigenous Bharat 28 bullet train prototype is nearing completion of its squeeze test at BEML's Bengaluru facility. The train targets 249 kmph operational speed for 557 passengers. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the site on November 1 to review progress before commercial operations begin in August 2027.
