India's UPI MDR Fee Structure Detailed

India will reintroduce a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on UPI payments for high-value transactions. Issuing banks will retain 40% of the fee, while third-party apps like PhonePe and Google Pay and acquiring banks will each receive 30%. The fee may apply to merchants with over Rs 1-1.5 crore annual turnover on transactions exceeding Rs 2,000.
