Winduction Plans 2028 Electric Bus Pilot

Winduction, an ETH spin-off, develops a wireless charging system for electric buses using wheel-based induction coils. The technology aims to reduce operational costs by charging during the day, requiring plates at only two of 24 stops on a test route. A first pilot operation is planned for 2028 at Zurich Airport, involving real passenger transport.
