Ecopetrol cyberattack hits 3,300 accounts

Colombian energy giant Ecopetrol confirmed a ransomware attempt where attackers stole data from 3,300 user accounts but failed to deploy the encryptor. Stolen files were pseudonymous with no identities or credentials compromised. The company ousted the attackers, launched an investigation, and notified Colombian authorities.
