The UK's Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult has relaunched as the Semiconductor Catapult, widening its remit to AI hardware, defence and other strategic sectors. The government-backed centre will help startups, SMEs and larger firms develop, integrate, test and validate chips, with facilities in Newport, Bristol and Glasgow. It follows June government plans to refocus the existing catapult around AI hardware.
