DigitalOcean has launched Managed Agents, a service for deploying AI agents that connect to over 16,000 tools. It combines a Firecracker microVM runtime with an MCP gateway, offering per-second CPU billing and pause/resume in about 300 milliseconds. Customers like OpenHands and Amplitude are already using it.
