New Study Links AI Use to Teen Mental Health

A study by the JEF Foundation interviewed more than 5,000 American middle and high school students between Oct. 2025 and April 2026. It found that students using AI while emotionally struggling have worse mental health outcomes and a greater history of suicidal thoughts and attempts. Researchers stress the study did not establish causality.
