South Korea announced an 800 trillion won ($520 billion) public-private investment plan with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix to expand chipmaking capacity. Each company will build two new fabrication plants in the country's southwestern region. The government also plans to construct about $357 billion worth of AI data centers.
