AWS retires Mechanical Turk crowdsourcing service

Amazon Web Services will stop accepting new customers for its Mechanical Turk crowdsourcing service, effective July 30, 2026. Existing users will not be impacted. AWS added the service to its "Services in Maintenance" list, indicating retirement. The platform, launched in November 2005, pre-dated Freelancer and Fiverr.
