Illinois taxes social media, digital ads, crypto markets

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed a state budget imposing new taxes on social media giants, digital advertisements, and prediction and crypto markets. The eighth spending plan of Pritzker's tenure also includes additional funding for food assistance after federal cuts under President Donald Trump. The taxes are likely to face lawsuits.
