Okta launched an AI agent runtime gateway that sits inline to enforce authorization decisions as autonomous agents act. President Ric Smith said the move shifts Okta from perimeter identity to runtime governance. Okta also acquired Permiso Security for threat detection, and plans intent-based authorization in 2027.
