OpenAI plans to rebuild ChatGPT as agent app

OpenAI is shifting ChatGPT from a chatbot to an agent that handles tasks independently, calling the chat interface dead. The overhaul, the biggest since 2022, will bundle coding tools, AI agents, and integrations with Canva and Booking. Chief product officer Thibault Sottiaux said the goal is a personal agent for work and life. ChatGPT's web and mobile interface will be redesigned in coming weeks.
