Hyundai Patents Simulated Engine Braking for EVs

Hyundai has filed a US patent for software that varies simulated engine braking in its performance EVs based on selected gear and motor revs, using regenerative braking tweaks. The system would build on the virtual gearshifts in the Ioniq 5 N, Ioniq 6 N, Kia EV6 GT and Genesis GV60 Magma, which currently apply the same braking regardless of gear.
