AWS replaced three separate agent harnesses for Kiro with a single architecture built around the Agent Client Protocol. The IDE used TypeScript, the CLI used Rust, and the web experience used Python. The move lets clients communicate with the agent through a shared protocol, potentially freeing tool choice.
