How Pixar saved Toy Story 2 after a Unix deletion

A routine cleanup command on a Unix machine deleted nearly all of Toy Story 2's production files in 1998. Pixar's animation pipeline gave broad access to shared directories, making the accidental deletion possible. The film was recovered because a technical director had a backup copy at home while on maternity leave.
