Yuri Zaporozhets proposed the Harmonic Firmware Initiative (HFI), a standard PC-style BIOS for RISC-V computers. HFI identifies hardware, offers setup, and hands off to U-Boot. Zaporozhets developed HFI on a SiFive HiFive Unmatched with an Nvidia GK208 graphics card, initializing it without x86 BIOS code.
