NHTSA to mandate safer car door handles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration denied a petition to investigate Tesla Model 3 emergency door handles but vowed to write new rules mandating a robust and obvious door egress system in all motor vehicles. An expert estimated the rules might not be codified until 2030 at the earliest.
