Zcash activated its major network upgrade NU7 on Nov. 5 at block height 3,543,405, reducing the target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. The update also implements a Network Sustainability Mechanism removing 60% of fees, causing ZEC to drop 5.17% to $1,254.7 amid a broader crypto market downturn where the GMCI 30 index fell 6.9%.
