Google Signs Deal to Power AI Data Center

Google proposes a deal with Xcel Energy to build a 780-megawatt data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, aiming for carbon-free energy by 2030. The company plans to finance 1,400 megawatts of wind, 200 megawatts of solar, and 300 megawatts of battery storage, paying for at least 75% of the capacity even if demand drops.
