Comma.ai Probed After Two Fatal Crashes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating Comma.ai after five reported crashes involving its aftermarket hands-off driver assistance tech, two of them fatal, killing three people. Regulators say the devices failed to detect slow or stopped vehicles in the same lane, injuring up to 11 people across four crashes. Some incidents may involve modified forks of Comma's openpilot software.
