Apple working with British police to tackle iPhone theft

London's Metropolitan Police is sharing data with Apple to measure anti-theft protections like Activation Lock and Stolen Device Protection. The partnership helps Apple block illicit factory-reset software. Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said stolen phones that cannot be reactivated lose value, reducing theft incentives.
