The OCI MSA settled on a slow-and-wide NRZ architecture for optical scale-up, using four wavelengths at 50 Gbps per channel for 200 Gbps per fiber. The consortium did not specify how bandwidth scales beyond four wavelengths, leaving manufacturing approaches unresolved. Ayar Labs and NVIDIA already pursue eight-to-16 wavelength paths.
