Chrome Sets Browser Speed Records on M5 MacBook Pro

Google's Chrome browser set new records on Speedometer 3.1 and JetStream 3 benchmarks, earning a 61 on Speedometer (5% improvement since last year) and a 469 on JetStream 3 (10% improvement since early 2026). Tests ran on an M5 MacBook Pro with macOS 26.0.1. Google reworked JavaScript handling by skipping unnecessary execution steps and inlining asynchronous operations. The improvements also cover WebAssembly workloads and the Blink rendering engine.
