An open-source workflow lets an LLM reproduce, improve and extend economics articles using published replication packages. Across 4,452 packages from five economics journals, it flagged discrepancies in 3,460 articles or appendices, and improved calculations in 496. The tool automates sensitivity analysis and alternative implementations, raising questions about the reliability of published economics findings.
