Microsoft is funding a bet on mud

Microsoft is funding Pantheon Regeneration to rewet 23 square miles of North Carolina peatland before it dries out and burns. Pantheon plans to sell carbon credits from the project to fund permanent conservation of these ancient ecosystems, which store twice the carbon of all Earth's forests combined.
