LexisNexis, IMS Bring Driving Scores to Insurer Apps

LexisNexis Risk Solutions and IMS have partnered to embed driving scores inside insurers' existing phone apps, eliminating the need for an OBDII dongle. The system uses IMS's EdgeSDK to calculate scores on-device, with raw behavior staying local. LexisNexis claims it could cut usage-based insurance operating costs by 50 to 80 percent. No insurer has been named as launching the system yet.
