Researchers at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre and NVIDIA used JUPITER, Europe's first exascale supercomputer, to simulate a universal quantum computer with 50 qubits. The simulation required 2 petabytes of memory and surpasses the previous 48-qubit record set in 2019.
