Google Phone App Restores Contacts Tab

Google is bringing the Contacts tab back to its Phone app after removing it in the August 2025 Material 3 Expressive redesign, which had reduced navigation to Home, Keypad and Voicemail. Contacts now sits between Home and Keypad, while the navigation drawer shortcut is gone. The change is rolling out slowly in the Phone by Google beta, version 240 and up.
