Northwestern University researchers built the Phantom Twist drone, which spins at 25 RPM to become nearly invisible through motion blur. The single-motor, single-propeller design rotates the entire aircraft opposite the propeller. A computational model generated 20,000 configurations, and AI optimized the final design. The drone is 10 times less visually perceptible than a conventional quadcopter.
