Texas District Swaps Chromebooks for Apple in $11.2M Lease

Beaumont Independent School District approved a four-year, $11.19 million lease for 14,585 Apple devices, replacing aging Chromebooks after more than 6,600 repairs last year cost nearly $470,000. The deal covers 4,085 iPads, 9,500 MacBook Neos and 1,000 teacher laptops, with annual payments of about $2.8 million starting from district reserves.
