Future Proof Shipping, which operated hydrogen fuel-cell cargo vessels H2 Barge 1 and H2 Barge 2 in northern Europe, entered bankruptcy proceedings. The vessels proved hydrogen propulsion can work but failed to create a commercially viable fuel, port, and customer system. Battery-electric and hybrid competitors are already operating.
