On Oct. 23, U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced helium is a critical material for AI and data centers. This designation aims to secure supply chains and support domestic production of semiconductors. In 2025, six new helium operations began producing helium in the United States, with sales of Grade-A helium amounting to $970 million last year.
