FDA approves robotic blood draw device Aletta

The FDA approved Aletta, a standalone robotic device that automates blood draws using near-infrared light and Doppler ultrasound. A trained phlebotomist must oversee the device, but one person can monitor up to three robots. Clinical data showed success rates comparable to or better than human phlebotomists.
