xAI's Grok Build CLI was uploading entire Git repositories, including full commit history, to a Google Cloud Storage bucket named grok-code-session-traces. A researcher found a 27,800x gap between model traffic and storage traffic. xAI disabled the upload server-side but has not explained why full repos were uploaded by default.
