X-energy Completes Main Structure of Tennessee Nuclear Fuel Plant

X-energy finished the main structure of its TX-1 nuclear fuel plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The 214,000-square-foot facility, built by TRISO-X, will produce 700,000 TRISO fuel pebbles annually, consuming 5 metric tons of uranium to supply up to 11 Xe-100 reactors. It is the first commercial-scale advanced fuel facility in the US in over 50 years.
