US Army picks Vampire for drone defense gap

The US Army awarded L3Harris a contract worth up to $106 million for the Vampire counter-drone system. The self-contained platform mounts on vehicles and uses laser-guided APKWS rockets to engage aerial targets up to six kilometers away. The system fills a gap in the Army's layered defense against hostile drones.
