Jio Mulls Developing Sovereign LEO Satellite Constellation

Jio Platforms is evaluating a sovereign low Earth orbit satellite constellation for India. The company plans to lease satellite capacity from global providers while building its own capabilities to extend telecom networks to rural villages, hilly regions, islands, and border outposts. Jio also aims to build ground stations and an end-to-end satellite broadband network.
