Researchers from the University of Padua, Politecnico di Milano, and CNR Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnologies built a quantum coherent receiver inside borosilicate glass using femtosecond laser writing. The glass-based device offers low optical loss, stable performance, and compatibility with fiber-optic systems for quantum key distribution and random number generation.
