Cheyenne's water utility stopped accepting wastewater from Meta's data center builder Goat Systems LLC after tracing Cupriavidus gilardii, a metal-resistant bacterium, to fill-and-flush and closed-loop cooling discharges. The bacterium interfered with two water reclamation plants and pushed the reuse system offline for months of cleanup.
