Anthropic disabled access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models after the U.S. Commerce Department barred distribution to any foreign national, including non-citizen employees. The company called it a misunderstanding and is working to restore access. Claude models, including Opus 4.8, were not affected.
