Shielded Bitcoin Privacy Design Published

Researchers at Bitcoin cryptography developer alloc published a 56-page paper on September 24, 2026, specifying Shielded Bitcoin, a Zcash-style protocol for private transfers on Bitcoin's base layer. It hides sender, recipient and amount using encrypted notes and zero-knowledge proofs, requires no consensus changes, and leaves BTC entry and exit to a separate paper.
