PhonePe and Google Pay UPI Share Falls

PhonePe and Google Pay combined UPI share fell to 77.8% in September 2026, down from 78.3% in August. PhonePe processed 10.91 billion transactions for 45.57% share, while Google Pay handled 7.71 billion for 32.23%. Over the year, Google Pay dropped 3.2 points and PhonePe fell 0.9 points. The decline occurs as NPCI extends compliance deadlines to December 31, 2026.
